Kharkov regional non-governmental youth organization "Kharkov Volunteer Center"

description

Our team of the KRN-GYO "Kharkov volunteer center" has been systematically working with youth in the public sector for 14 years, involving them in active participation in the volunteer socially important movement to help those who really need it. The volunteer movement is now even more relevant due to the threatening spread of the COVID-19 epidemic, and even more support for volunteers is needed by socially vulnerable categories who find themselves in difficult life circumstances. Unfortunately, in our Kharkov region there is still no Unified Youth Space, which would really unite youth and volunteer initiatives, would be organized by the youth for the youth!

Therefore, the dream of our team is to create a youth platform in the city of Kharkov in the form of Youth Inclusive Spark - Hub, which would unite young people, volunteers, youth and women with disabilities, youth, women's / feminist initiatives and teams, give them access to the latest technologies. , training, further organizational development.

The inclusive direction of such a platform will be the involvement of young people and women with disabilities, who are also able to take an active part in community life, a necessary condition for this is to provide these categories with the necessary skills, knowledge, space for communication and social integration.

This is truly our dream, which we hope will come true thanks to your Spark Fund program!

We really want to act !!! We hope for your support!

The problem we are trying to solve:

During many years of activity in the public sector, we are always interested to be acquainted with the experience of public organizations, successful women leaders, which we use in our practical activities. Therefore, we were very interested in participating in this program and the possibility of creating a single youth platform in the form of Youth Inclusive Spark-Hub, which would bring together young people, volunteers, youth and women with disabilities, youth, women's / feminist initiatives and teams, give them access to the latest technologies, training, further organizational development.

We have a great desire to continue to work actively for the benefit of young people and women, to promote the development of their leadership potential in the implementation of feminist programs, drawing on their own professional experience in the public sector, to participate in implementing mechanisms for active participation in local policy development, project management, successful communication and social partnership, development of gender policy and culture in order to expand the range of opportunities for women's representation in decision-making at all levels.

We are very interested in looking at the feminist movement from the standpoint of feminizing poverty and the economic situation, the health of vulnerable groups of women, which we plan to focus on in our innovation initiative. At the societal level, prejudice and gender discrimination continue to reproduce, and women and men as social communities in general have unequal access to social status, resources, privileges, prestige, and power. This is especially true for women in the most vulnerable categories, namely: women with disabilities, women raising children and young people with disabilities, and women in difficult life circumstances. We also propose to emphasize these vulnerable categories in our collective initiative.

The solution we are proposing:

Creating a single youth platform in the form of Youth Inclusive Spark-Hub will provide an opportunity to unite the youth of Kharkov region, volunteers, youth and women with disabilities, youth, women's / feminist initiatives and teams, provide them with access to the latest technologies, training, further organizational development.

This will significantly increase the professional skills, civic activity, "visibility" of these categories in society, will contribute to the disclosure of their own potential for the benefit of the local community by entrusting to the volunteer socially significant movement.
